New! hard wax high rise

If your style is to keep your hair professional during the day and then rock some dangerously high hair (hello Alan Cumming) after work, then you need to check out Redken For Men hard wax high rise. This concoction not only creates supreme height with maximum hold, but also adds texture and definition with a matte natural finish. It’s humidity-resistant and doesn’t leave you with crunchy hair. Also, using hard wax high is about as easy and low maintenance as it gets: just emulsify a small amount into hands then drag fingers through dry or towel-dried hair and style it up. High rise is good for all hair types and is formulated with protein to maintain thickness and build strength, which ultimately helps to prevent breakage and loss of hair.

This is just a hunch, but I think that Cameron Diaz’s character in There's Something About Mary would wholeheartedly approve of Redken For Men hard wax high rise. Just a hunch.

Hermes Terre D’Hermes on FragranceNet.com

Over the past year, I’ve read so many incredible posts on Hermes Terre D’Hermes — all of them positive and some even calling this fragrance a masterpiece by perfumer Jean Claude Ellena. I have to say that I agree with them. This fragrance is a masterpiece. It smells sophisticated and sexy and at the same time, unusually warm and inviting. Never ordinary. Terre D’Hermes has the ability to lift everything up a few notches. Hard to describe, but one of those things that needs to be experienced. I really love this one.

This post is not so much a review of the fragrance but a tip on where to get Hermes, Jean Paul Gaultier, YSL and some of the best fragrances out there at a serious fraction of the cost that you might pay at Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales or Sephora.

The place is FragranceNet.com and if you shopped at this online fragrance mecca, you know what I mean. Terre D’Hermes usually sells at the department stores for $70.00. The exact same bottle sells at FragranceNet.com for $54.19. Check it out here. Their selection is one of the best of all the online fragrance shops.

AXE Gets SENSITIVE

Photobucket

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of AXE shower gels.

For all the luxury bath products that I get to try, I still go to AXE when I want to rock a good, clean, fresh-smelling shower gel. With its NEW release, AXE Sensitive Shower Gel, AXE is helping guys embrace their softer side. Now I’m not talking about the Stuart Smalley baby-blue-sweater-wearing kind of sensitive but more like the Daniel Craig don’t-fuck-with-me-unless-you-want-to-snuggle-with-me kind of sensitive. The new mild formula is enriched with cucumber and milk protein and designed for guys with a sensitive side. Dermatologist-tested AXE Sensitive Shower Gel is pH neutral and less drying than regular bar soap. The result is irresistibly clean skin with a calming fragrance that will keep them coming back for more. And if that isn't enough, there's another reason to use it... sensitive guys make better boyfriends.

The reps from AXE sent me this shower gel to test and review and I would absolutely buy it on my own when this bottle runs out.

actiVwater... Hydrate, Rehydrate and Hydrate Again

Photobucket

One of the keys to having good skin is to keep it hydrated. That means hydrated from the inside out too. For a while now, I’ve been on the lookout for a sports drink that gives excellent hydration without the sweetness of, let’s say, Gatorade, Vitamin Water or some of the other sugary tasting sports drinks. I recently came across actiVwater and what a nice surprise it was. This is an energy drink that packs flavor, performance and terrific health components all in one. actiVwater is loaded with electrolytes and gives long lasting hydration without having that sugar-cringe factor. Another thing I liked was that it didn’t give me that big energy jolt that's usually followed by the crash. Instead the drink kept me hydrated throughout the day — very refreshing. actiVwater offers a nice variety of flavors including Dragonfruit, Black Berry and Pomegranate Berry.

It’s a great source of energy and refreshment at only 25 calories per serving. Some of the other vitamin-enhanced waters contain twice the calories and only 1/3 of the enhancements. In other words actiVwater delivers more benefits and 1/2 the calories.

Jack Black’s Ultimate Answer to Balanced, Healthy Skin

One of my favorite at-home skin treatments is Jack Black’s Deep Detox Clay Mask/Spot Treatment. Super-easy to use, instant results and the effect is long lasting. Using a facial mask may seem overwhelming but it’s one of those things that you just get in the habit of doing and then it becomes routine. And yes, the mask looks funny while it’s on but the after effect is so worth it. Every day I see dudes with these enormous black heads on their noses and foreheads and think “oh man, that could look so much better.”

A French friend of mine told me that masks are the reason that the French have good skin. They put a mask on while they’re having their coffee in the morning and then wash it off in the shower. I leave mine on for anywhere between 6 and 10 minutes and usually play Maze (I get to level 4 and then have to start over) or I catch a little bit of Sex & The City, Golden Girls or Dancing With The Stars while I'm waiting.

After cleansing, apply an even layer over face, let it dry and rinse it off. It’s that easy. The clay just sucks all the dirt and grime out of the pores. It's great. Use it two or three times a week and you're good to go. For quick spot treatment, apply a small amount of the mask on a zit at night to dry up blemishes. Wash it off in the morning. For me, this is a must-have.

GlamMan and His Glam Dogs

Last week was bath time for Lola and Penny. Not the most fun time for the girls but a good time for me because after all the wagging and splashing ended I had two fresh, shiny, good-smelling Chihuahuas. My two Glam Dogs get the royal treatment when it comes to bathing. This time I used a shampoo that I've been hearing a lot of buzz about lately. It's called FUR by J Mikel for the discerning dog.

The Shampoo is a soap-free moisturizing foaming cleanser that rocks a fresh light citrus floral scent. It’s also enhanced with botanical extracts, essential fatty acids and anti-oxidants — it gave a super glossy shine to Lola and Penny’s coats. AMAZE.

The Detangler is actually a silky leave-in conditioner with the same light citrus floral scent as the shampoo. It moisturizes, repels dust, detangles knots, adds shine and deodorizes the dog’s coat. The foaming detangler is easier to use than traditional conditioners and it does a great job refreshing the coat between grooming — it’s suitable for all types of dog coats: silky, ruff or curly. Love it.

Here’s the 411 on FUR: The founder/owner used to work for Estee Lauder so she’s all for using the best ingredients in her products — the ones that are usually reserved for high end beauty products. Some of the ingredients include Moringa Seed, which is also used in Ren Skincare, Clarins and other awesome anti-aging products. FUR is just the first company to bring these quality skincare formulas to the Jet-Set Pet-Set! FUR is so easy to use that I think the Real Housewives of NYC would have no problem cleaning their pups themselves. Also, one of the best apothecaries in Savannah has Miley Cyrus crooning over her pups and Paula Dean is rumored to love a little more than butter – her pup gets glammed up with FUR.

FUR is available in NYC at Zitomer Pharmacy. You can also purchase FUR at these online retailers. A MUST for any pampered pooch!
