You’re in NYC looking for that perfect haircut for the holidays…. or really any time of the year.
Where to go:
Roberto Novo Salon
45 Christopher Street, NYC
Roberto Novo has been working with hair for over three decades. He has the passion of a hotshot editorial stylist – but he lives for cutting and sculpting the hair and is known for giving cuts that last.
The buzzing atmosphere of the salon allows for intimate conversations and consultations between you and the stylist, but generally merges into interesting conversations that include fashion tips (Calvin Klein and Hal Rubenstein are long-time friends and clients) and sometimes politics (one client was a journalist who covered Michael Jackson’s funeral and was explaining the journalistic frenzy of the Prince of Pop’s gathering).
Roberto can literally sculpt a shaggy, long, grown-out, layered cut into a chiseled and versatile shorter style — and with the tousle of a few strategic hairs and a little pomade, he can turn a Rocker into a hip businessman. Roberto’s cuts last and are crafted with charm and heart.
Roberto has studied and trained with some of the top stylists and academies across the globe like Vidal Sassoon, Tony and Guy, Oribe, Pierre Alexandre and worked with fashion giants as their personal stylist and with their runway shows for Calvin Klein, Gianni Versace and Dolce Gabbana in NY, Milan and Paris. He has worked directly with Miguel Romano, Eva Peron’s beauty guru and worked on videos with Britney Spears, Fergie and Grace Jones to Diana Degarmo from America’s Got Talent. He is proud to say that Versace said it was the best cuts of his fashionable life.
Men’s haircuts are $55. A woman's haircut with Roberto is an affordable $150 for a master hairdresser – others charge a months rent.
